I wrote a book!

September 14, 2020

I have two main passions in life—raising and educating my children to the best of my ability, and writing—and this book is a joining of those two passions! They say it takes 3 months to successfully develop a habit, with this in mind I wrote “Meaningful Conversations With Our Children”, containing 100 days of quotations aimed at inspiring and nurturing in our children a daily habit of studying sacred text and developing the ability to delve deeply into understanding the meaning and lessons to be learned from these teachings, through having meaningful and elevated conversations on the topics covered.

The key to happiness and growth is not limited to our emotional and academic success, but is in fact, more impacted by our spiritual development. Creating a pattern of self-growth and spiritual development that becomes a natural part of the rhythm of our children’s lives is essential in setting them up for success and happiness in life.

Each day a new quotation is accompanied by a vocabulary section to help with understanding any difficult words, followed by a discussion section to stimulate conversation aimed at fully understanding the meaning of each verse, how it applies to and impacts our lives, and how to put it into action that leads to personal growth and contributing to the larger community.

Although the quotations used are taken from the Bahá’í Writings, they are accessible to anyone from any faith, because they speak to the fundamental truths of all faiths—to live a life in which you treat others the way you would want to be treated, to be kind, loving, and joyful, to pray and connect with God, and to serve others. These are the concepts and discussions you will be having with your children as you move through the days of this book.

My hope in writing “Meaningful Conversations With Our Children” was to make the process of developing this daily habit easily accessible to anyone—whether your kids are in traditional schools or homeschooled, whether you are at home or work outside of the home. All you need is to carve out a few moments a day to go through one of these daily devotions together, the rest is done for you. To learn more and purchase the book click here.
